Book review related to Book Club 2

Kia ora everyone, My book that I read is called the Land of the Long White Cloud, a collation of short stories by New Zealand writers. The short story I enjoyed, or the one that caught my attention, is called 'Gathering of the Whakapapa'.    It is told from the perspective of a grandson having been requested to be the driver for his Maori grandfather. Narrated by the grandson himself, he tells of the events leading up to the death of his beloved grandfather.  It is fascinating insight into Maori way of life including integrated te reo, for example, mokopuna (grandchild), and kai (food) and the treasure of knowing one's geneology.  The moral of this story is that retaining one's connection to the people that have come before them (their elders, parents, grandparents, ancestors, etc), is important.  Six60 'Don't Forget Your Roots' In English: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOXu50EhPqo In Maori: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D...
